Feb. 26th

Hey everybody,

We just wanted to let you know that we're still around and working. Although we haven't performed lately we are practicing and working on some new things inc. some new songs, covers and originals. David and Mike just had the successful Grand Opening of the new location of Music Lessons Central and we have finally completed our promo pack so that we can get more and better gigs hopefully with clubs that don't treat bands like S#$%. ( We've been a little lazy about that.) So stay tuned and keep your powder dry.

My Space is: http://www.myspace.com/Hindsight2020Rocks

Music Lessons Central: http://MusicLessonsCentral.net

On an unrelated subject; I know this economy is hard on us all and there are finally signs (at least for me) that things are starting to improve but let's not forget that on the other side of the world that Men and women are fighting and dying in some of the worst conditions imaginable. Again I know we are all tired of hearing about the forever war that the current and past administration have been perpetrating while we have been mesmerized by the medias Bread and Circus obfuscations but in the mean time Soldiers and Marines are living under some of the most God Forsaken conditions imaginable.

A friend of a friend of mine in the Marine Corps is organizing care packages for his old command that just shipped out to Suckganistan.
Rather than ramble on any more I'll let him fill in the details.

Thanks for caring,
HS20/20

What is going on with Hindsight 20/20?

Just wanted to give an update on things for all you folks. All the band is doing well.

Gary survived his harrowing snow adventure (feel free to ask him about it) But be prepared for a very scary 30 seconds. .

Mike and Dave have opened (Dec. 1st) Their new store location of "Music Lessons Central" (909) 792-1215 just in case you want to learn how to sing, play guitar, drums, bass or piano. One of the cool things about the new store is "THE BAND ROOM" also the recording studio and place were we get together and drink beer. http://musiclessonscentral.net

Sean has made the finals in the redlands singing compation. I will post the dates for the finals when i have them. It would be great if some of his fans and friends would show up for his final compation show those folks how to rock Hindsight 20/20 style.

We are currently making a demo for better cover gigs (looking for places that give a damn about the bands that make them money) and also starting our new Original C.D. Now that we have a place to practice (WOOOOOOT) we will also be doing more original shows.

August 28th

Hi Folks, Just Letting you know about new shows.
The Shows Page will have all the info above and beyond.
Sept. 4th and 5th We are back to Mill Creek.
Hey boys and girls how's it going. I don't know about you but I've been restless lately. (It's 2am and I have insomnia again.) It seems that things that don't normally bother me have had me climbing the walls. I'm having a hard time maintaining my normal laid back placid demeanor. Maybe it's just the heat or maybe it's that %#@ ^&*% cricket that's keeping me awake at night. Perhaps I'm taking things too seriously here in the dog days of August because If one more person sends me an un sourced email about health care, guns or Muslims without taking the time to at least fact check it I will need a new monitor and a doctor to extract my fist from the old one due to my trying to reach the sender in order to strangle him. But I digress. After all I know the cure and on Friday Sept. 4Th & Sat. Sept. 5Th I will get a strong dose of the antidote. Two nights of Rock and Roll @ Mill Creek.

So if you, like me, have that pervasive listless anxiety so common in our times come join HS20/20 @ Mill Creek and spell relief ROCK AND ROLL. Hell, I'm starting to feel better just thinking about it. Maybe I can get some sleep now. ................Screw it where's my bass. I wanna play.

In religion and politics people's beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing.

"I have always thought it rather interesting to follow the involuntary movements of fear in clever people. Fools coarsely display their cowardice in all its nakedness, but the others are able to cover it with a veil so delicate, so daintily woven with small plausible lies, that there is some pleasure to be found in contemplating this ingenious work of the human intelligence."

Happy New Year from HS20/20

It's recently come out that Indiana guardsmen stationed in Iraq to protect KBR employees were knowingly exposed to lethal doses of hexavalent chromium. Sixty% of those stationed there are now showing symptoms of the exposure inc. cancer. Please take a moment and visit the IAVA web site and sign the petition to hold these money grubbing war profiteers accountable. http://www.iava.org/

This not the way a responsible and grateful nation treats it's soldiers and veterans. I am not normally an advocate of the death penalty but some crimes are so heinous that I'd be willing to make an exception.
Sorry for strong opinions but this makes my blood boil.

See you at the next show,
Gary

December 15th

Hey everyone, HS20/20 would like to wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and for those of you who, like me believe that the spirit of Christmas has been co-opted by Madison Ave. and now is no more than crude a celebration of American consumerism; Happy Festivus http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4ip9ZCIM9g&feature=related
Whatever your holiday of choice we can all agree that the place to be this coming Friday and Saturday nights will be Mill Creak where HS20/20 will be singing songs of the season like Whole Lotta Rosie and Fairies Wear Boots. You won't want to miss it as Dave airs his grievances and Mike shares his feats of strength. Don't miss your chance to dance with Sean around the Festivus pole. (Yikes!)

BE THERE!!!

I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was six. Mother took me to see him in a department store and he asked for my autograph.
Shirley Temple
And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.

And I would like to share a poem that our good friend Connie wrote on our forum @ Thanksgiving

MY thoughts on the forums, that I’ve read through the year,
For I also have enjoyed the time I’ve spent here.
I’m glad for the roof that keeps me dry from the rain,
The friends that I have ( no matter how sane ).
The drink & the food that all makes me fat,
& the exercise I do to help reverse all of that.
The questionable acts of Mike’s kitty‘s Kung-Fu,
& Gary’s wonderful knowledge of all the fine brews.
The introduction of music’s I hear the first time,
That sounds so much better with Chardonnay wine.
The political views which we don’t HAVE to agree,
It’s called an opinion, one of the few things still free.
The animals we help and the job that I do,
Meeting good people, including all you.

November 14th

Hear ye! Hear ye! Let it be known that this Friday HS20/20 will be @ Mission Tobacco lounge in Riverside. We need all y'all to come out and support us if you can. We want to make a good impression so we can get more gigs. Now this is a tobacco lounge so if you don't like smoke don't worry because there's none allowed. That's right, you figure it out.

On Saturday night Mike, Dave and I will be performing in a completely different format. We will be teaming up with Jennifer Sparks for a charity benefit to raise money for veterans. We will be performing Jazz standards and various other songs you probably won't hear us play anywhere else . The gig will be at Shake it up dance studio in Redlands. I'm sure there will be a dance lesson and a show included in the event. So, for the low, low price of $10 you can learn to dance, hear the Sparks Jazz combo, see a dance performance and support our veterans. It's a win win. HS20/20 has your week end covered.

Do you ever wonder why the presidential debates never seem to accomplish anything. Why do the moderators lob softballs over the plate and never challenge the candidates when they change the subject and talk in endless circles merely reciting campaign talking points. How do they get away with that. We want substance but we get soma . We want answers but we get fluff.

Once upon a time The League of Women voters tried to supply us with good debates that even included third party candidates but this angered the Dems. and Repubs. because if they had to answer real questions the voters would see that they were nothing more than empty shirts doing the bidding of their corporate overlords. So they got rid of those pesky women voters and their revealing questions and formed the Bi-partisan corporate-sponsored Commission on Presidential Debates. The debates are now structured so that neither candidate has to answer anything that they don't want to or any subject that the board doesn't want to have any light shined upon. In other words we hear only what they want us to hear. If you want to find out more go to Open Debates.org http://www.opendebates.org/theissue/ If your happy with the crap that they're spoon feeding us don't bother, just keep watching the current format and learning nothing. After all what have we got to loose but Democracy?

"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds."
- Samuel Adams

"When once a republic is corrupted, there is no possibility of remedying any of the growing evils but by removing the corruption and restoring its lost principles; every other correction is either useless or a new evil."
- Thomas Jefferson

"There are more instances of the abridgment of freedoms of the people by gradual and silent encroachment of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations."
- James Madison

And this one for she who knows who she is.
"Beer commercials are so patriotic: 'Made the American Way.' What does that have to do with America? Is that what America stands for? Feeling sluggish and urinating frequently?"
- Evelyn Waugh

Sept. 14th, Tabacco Lounge Rocked

Thanks to all of you who came out to the Tobacco lounge last night. We had a lot of fun and for me, after the slime that has been flowing out of the Demopublican conventions, it was like a mental high colonic.
Next Friday night HS20/20 will be performing our mind purge magic @ Harley's. So shed those hip waders you've had to wear sense the Iowa caucuses and turn off that mind numbing, I.Q. lowering propaganda machine for one night and come on down for a cleanse. We'll set things aright.. Don't worry, Olbermann and O'Reilly aren't going anywhere. When you turn that vile spin spewing idiot box back on they will unfortunately still be there reciting talking points unless of course you turn it on and find cartoons. My advice in that case would be to leave it there. It will cause less brain damage and be better for your health.

Here's a question. How do you know if a politician is lying? That's easy. His (or her) lips are moving. Another quick and easy reference is Fact Check.org http://www.factcheck.org/ Click the link and check it out. You can subscribe for regular updates or just peruse the site. Be prepared though to find out that your favorite candidate is also a lying sack of crap, not just the other guy. Remember though, it's not their fault that we believe what they say. It's our fault for wearing partisan blinders and swallowing what they say. We have to hold them accountable. It's our responsibility.

It is not the function of our Government to keep the citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to keep the Government from falling into error.
-- U.S. Supreme Court, in American Communications Association v. Douds, 339 U.S. 382,442

I always cheer up immensely if an attack is particularly wounding because I think, well, if they attack one personally, it means they have not a single political argument left.

In my lifetime, we've gone from Eisenhower to George W. Bush. We've gone from John F. Kennedy to Al Gore. If this is evolution, I believe that in 12 years, we'll be voting for plants.

My choice early in life was either to be a piano-player in a whorehouse or a politician. And to tell the truth, there's hardly any difference.

July 13th: "And now a message from Gary" 2008

This coming Friday and Saturday HS20/20 will be back @ Mill Creek Cattle Co. Come on out and join us and be sure to have Mark the bartender hook you up with a cold refreshing glass of Hanger 24, the new pale ale brewed right here in Redlands. http://www.hangar24brewery.com/index.htm

Folks has your TV got you down. Are you tired of looking for news and instead finding bloviating talking heads shouting at each other about whatever trivial talking point is being used that day to distract us? Has your favorite shows intellectual content devolved to the level of that Indian head test pattern that used to be on before the farm report? http://www.videouniversity.com/tvtestpa.htm Well don't despair because I've compiled a list of Gary's favorite light hearted classic books for your summer reading pleasure.
First up is The Traveler by John Twelve Hawks; a classic boy meets girl story where a young man learns to dream while his companion struggles to get him safely to his destination. Then there is It Can't Happen Here by Sinclair Lewis; a light hearted romp through the zany follies of a group of fun loving Neo-Brown Shirts. Of course there is always Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. It combines the charm of sex, drugs & rock and roll with the angst of a man who feels out of place in his new surroundings, a laugh a minute. Last but not least we have Nineteen Eighty-Four; a hilarious story about Winston, a middle aged man who begins to question his path in life because of his infatuation with a young woman. Needless to say all sorts of amusing events transpire before a loving and stern Big Brother steps in to set him back on the correct path. I hope you enjoy these selections as much as I have and I look forward to seeing you this coming week end.

 July 12th: 2008

Hey everybody, I trust you had a good 4th of July full of family, friends and good cheer. I know I'll be dieting and detoxing for a few days in order to be ready for next Saturday when HS20/20 will be singing songs of hope and joy @ Harley's Sports bar. (What could be more joyous than Whole Lotta Rosie?) So come on down to Harley's and bring all your friends and neighbors. We guarantee a splendid time will be had by all. (Except for maybe that one person we all know who can make a diamond out of a lump of coal with out using their hands. You know who I'm talking about. We all know him/her. Leave that one @ home.)

This Coming Saturday Night July 12th HS20/20 will Be Playing at Harley's for your listening pleasure, cheap beer, good food, loud music and girls dancing on the bar (OOOO YEAH) (more info...)

I'll keep this short because I feel a rant coming on and not everyone enjoys ferreting out the secret messages hidden within my vague, incoherent, stream of consciousness ramblings as much as The Coop' does.

This coming weekend HS20/20 will once again be @ Mill Creek Cattle Co. No cover, cheap beer, good food, loud music, all the components of a nutritious and balanced diet. (more info...)

Friends, like you I often wonder how on earth will I fill up all the extra time of yet another boring three day week end. Working on the yard in this heat is worse than going to work and we've already seen everything on the history channel. Well you could re-read War And Peace or maybe go door to door gathering signatures for a ban on door to door signature gatherers, or maybe you could do something that really matters. HS20/20 is.

On Memorial day HS20/20 has the honor of performing on the steps of Riverside County Courthouse for this year's West Coast Thunder Memorial Day Ride sponsored by the Inland Empire Chapter of The Harley Owners group. This is a yearly event staged to raise money for the maintenance of Riverside National Cemetery. If you got a ride and want to participate follow the link http://www.westcoastthunder.com. If on the other hand all you have is a car or a thumb come on down to Historic Downtown Riverside and and join the after ride festivities beginning @ 10 a.m.

This is a big event with thousands of participants. There will be Food, Vendors, Bikes, live music and a drawing to win a 2008 105th Anniversary Road King Classic. ( I'm planning on winning but you can enter any way. It's for a good cause.) HS20/20 will be playing from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., so the choice is clear. You can sit home exercising your thumb, watching the Brady bunch and feeling sad thinking about your wasted existence or put down the remote and grab your friends and head on down to Downtown Riverside and join in the fun. (more info...)

If you are interested in participating in Ride go to http://www.westcoastthunder.com for more info.

Good morning HS20/20, just dropping in to remind all y'all to come on out to Mill Creek Cattle co. next weekend (March 21st & 22nd) and join us for Steak, beer and life saving Rock-N-Roll. (more info...)

I know what you're thinking. Come on Gary, my soul maybe but my life, whatever do you mean. Well I'm going to tell you.

It has come to our attention that some of you might be afraid to go out on a Friday or Saturday night for fear of being caught out in the open when the inevitable Robot Uprising occurs. We feel your pain and we've got your back.

As you know bullets are useless against evil robots and your martial art will only piss them off sort of like that fly buzzing around your head. As Daniel H. Wilson tells us in How To Survive A Robot Uprising, try using a crowbar. Although you can't hurt the robot at least you can gain precious time for your escape while the robot condescendingly twists your crowbar into a pretzel. No, your only hope for protection is to come to the show.

You see, I have a theory. No HS20/20 show has ever been marred by an evil robot attack and here is why. The only reason that I turn my bass amp up so loud is because the low frequencies will scramble the neural motor functions of evil robots and cause them to break dance and speak in tongues. The humiliation is unbearable for any self respecting evil robot and so they stay away. I know, I know.... the other guys in the band don't believe me either but ask yourself this: when was the last time you had your wallet stolen in the parking lot of a HS20/20 Case closed.

Alright, yes Buttercup, the rumors are true. HS20/20 is reforming after the shortest ever retirement, other than some of Ozzy's. Sean decided that he missed the fawning of his adoring fans, not to mention the free drinks, and we're back in business definitely. (What movie, quick.) Or it could have been the threat of spending the rest of his life on crutches Ala Tonya Harding that convinced him. (I know a guy.) Whatever it was we're back and ready to rock.

Friday @ 9 p.m. we will be tearing it up @ Harley's Sports Bar in beautiful down town San Bernadino. Now ask Yourself; what the #@%& else could I do on a Friday night that could top that. Unless you have a date w/ Kate Winslet or George Clooney I expect to see you there. If you do have a date w/ Kate, can I join you? If it's George ... well ... maybe ... no I won't say take Mike. He has to play guitar. Besides that would be improper, reprehensible and politically incorrect. (But it would be funny even though I won't say it.) (more info...)
